I didn't get amplitube with X1.  I thought it only came with MC5?

guitar rig 4 comes with X1 producer and it's a lite version but it's not a "trial" version.

The free plugin in X1 is Guitar Rig 4. It is a limited edition with only a barebones amp sim and FX. It's main purpose is to interest you enough for you to buy the full edition. It is very nice. Although, there is a plugin called Amplitube Free that is much more flexible and more bang for the buck. It also allows you to hook to their website to purchase more amps and FX. Very reasonable prices as well. IMO, Amplitube Free is the better of the two. I am using both in X1 with absolutely no problems this far. Acme Bar Gig has some really nice free amp sims over at their site as well.

Amp 3 Free is the fully functional version. It just doesn't come with the mother load of racks, stomps, amps, etc, that you get with the paid version. But you can build your way up to the paid version at your own convenience through the Custom Shop. This is a much improved sim over the previous versions. Very in depth, flexible and powerful... I'm liking it a lot. Several weeks ago my AKG Perception 220 went screwy on me. That being the only condenser I own, I had to mic my acoustic with an SM58. Great for vox, not so great for acoustic guitars. But I compensated by running the signal through Amp3, bypassing the amps and cabs so I could get a cleaner sound. The end result did the trick and will suffice until I can get a nice Blue condenser. Amp 3 is a great sim. you will have to tweak to get the tone you want but that's par for the course.
