amplitube "vintage metal lead" "eq model"? (super bass?)

Using amplitube, I'm using the amp "vintage metal lead". This is amplitube's version of the JMP amps. There are several choices of amp model. one is an el34 50 watt, another is an el34 100 watt. I'm guessing that these correspond to the 50 and 100 watt versions of the plexi. There are some others as well, such as solid state, etc. I'm not really too concerned with these. They either sound good or they don't.

I'm interested in the "eq model". What is this? Is this selecting a tone stack? The choices are: American Tube Clean 1, American Tube Clean 2, British Blue Tube 30TB, British Tube Lead 1, Modern Tube Lead, and Bass EQ.

What I'm wondering is if this amp model is selected with the "bass EQ" as the "eq model", if I'm essentially using an emulation of a Marshall Super Bass. Or not...

Any ideas? Thanks.

Not trying to shun you away from here, but you might find a lot more answers at IK's Amplitube forum. I do love all my Amplitube stuff (Fender, Orange, Metal etc...), but don't know the answer to your Q....hopefully, someone might chime in that does.

I think, but I'm not sure, the "bass" eq is supposed to replicate the Ampeg SVT.

Not all Amplitube's emulations resemble the original amp much at all. For example, the Tweed Deluxe has two inputs (normal and bright) and two volume controls which interact. The Amplitube "model" only has one volume, which makes it nearly useless for getting 50s style overdrive blues or Neil Young type sounds out of it.

Other amplifiers have grafted on master volumes or gain controls the originals lacked.

If you want an early Marshall sound the best Amplitube model I've found is the JTM45 used with the 4x12 Marshall cab that emulates low wattage Celestions greenbacks, not the cab Amplitube points you at which if I remember rightly claims to be modelling Fane speakers.

thanks.  I had forgotten that I wasn't using a cakewalk product, since I always use amplitube as a plugin w/ cakewalk.
