another trial mix- "Some time"

"Some Time"

https://soundcloud.com/bats-brew/some-time

i've got 7 songs complete, towards my 3rd official album release....
this is another new song trial mix,
working up final mixes on this one now.

any suggestions?

this started out as an instrumental,
as a lot of mine do.......
and morphed into something completely different.

Sounds great. Good stereo field. Drums present. Killer vocals bat. You really know how to sing with emotion. Playing is so fine. Maybe its just me but I hear a spike around 6-8K. Kick and bass are shy on about +1 at 60db. Don't think that matters to you. You will probably tweek it all when you master.
You know me, I always give you my ears.
    Love your work.

    thanks rimshot!
    appreciate the analysis,
    6-8khz is always tricky.
i'll focus on that, see where it's coming from on a track by track basis....
i've got rolloff on the low end on most tracks, starting around 40hz, maybe i'm catching a bit too much of the edge of it on my kick and bass....

appreciate the listen and comments on the rest of it,
it's better if i can do the least amount of work while mastering,
i'm really starting to think i'm going to go very light on the mastering for this project.

Bat does Prog - Nice start Bat as noted a touch peaky in places and a little lacking in Bass/bottom end but as this is a first pass I imagine all that will be sorted in the master rinse.

Good to know you heard some of that too.  Sometimes I think it's just me.

    thanks for input, wookie.....
i will try to fix it in the mix,
    rather than master.....
seems anything you tweak in mastering,
affects other stuff you do not want to be affected.

Master Rinse would have been better if I had said the final mix, which is what I meant, like you nothing can really be fixed by mastering.
