anyone getting this??

I allowed Windows 10(home) to install an update last night when I closed down
this morning when I try to start the bandlab version of sonar or sonar Platinum I get The windows installer screen saying "Preparing to install"  - this just hangs and I have to delete the task with task manager
any ideas??
thanks

Just curious:
If you don't try to run anything, has Windows finished its updating from last night?
Windows installer screen for what? (Is this Windows still trying to update, or your Daw trying to update, or your DAW triggering Windows to update something?)
Does this screen only popup when you are trying to open your DAW?
Do you mean Cakewalk by BandLab? (BandLab version of So...?)

I have seen a couple of reports like this. Here is one. All of them involved the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver. The fix was uninstalling and assuming you have a Steinberg interface re-installing the driver.

Yes, I had the same problem using a Steinberg / Yamaha UR22 mk2....

Uninstall / reinstall the driver.

Yes you were right scook uninstalling the Yamaha Steinberg usb driver sorted things out

Its a bit weird - I don't even use the driver it belonged to an old piece of kit I sold some time ago
