I've been using PLAY 3 for the past two days and it's working fine for me - load times are noticeably improved.

That's great news since 2 instances (for me anyway) can take over a minute to load.
    Thanks, Ill install tomorrow!

Yep, downloaded it last week as soon as it was available.

It seems to be running quite nicely - no backfiring, runs on all cylinders, no overheating yet :-)

Everything went peachy and hunky dorey...... until I tried to open X1....it crashes before the project can open.
I installed to the same folder as the older version (in fact I let the installer scan to see where I had installed) and refused the Pace crap just like before...but maybe that's the problem?

Just a hint for anyone who's got one and is experiencing slow load times. Upload the drivers from www.paceap.com as these are always the most up to date.

I've been getting a low RAM error since updating to Play 3. No one at EWQL has addressed the issue yet and it's really been making me mad.

East West support sucks big time.

I also had trouble with the PACE installation. The EW routine dropped out on an error. Which is why I went direct to paceap.com to install the latest drivers. Try that.

Their forum's a bit funny too - seen you over there, but so far you won't see me.

I've posted a couple of times over there, but somehow my posts never show up.
Seems I haven't satisfied the mods that I'm not a forum spammer.

I did make one very small criticism in one of my posts - maybe that was the end for me ?

EastWest is the only ILok'd software I have, and fortunately it's been a smooth ride for me so far (touch wood).

    Cheers - Cliff

They don't take kindly to public crit at all, and they rarely acknowledge their faults.

For example, East West Pianos is a premium piano sample set. Yet the soft samples have a lousy high noisefloor and are practically unusable. I have brought this to their attention but they just say something to the effect that it's part of the 'character'. This is utter ****.

If you want a fabulous sounding soft piano, btw, pick up Tonehammer's Emotional Piano, which is going for only $74 this month.

I think I'll try and reinstall Play today.

I'm interested to see how you guys all setup and use play because I think I've been doing it... while not incorrectly, I think there are, or should be better ways to use it in Sonar. However trying to get support from EWQL for even this has been a problem. I don't suppose any of you have a video up or can explain the settings you use when using Play in Sonar, do you?

    Thank you Paul,

I know exactly what you're saying re: the soft samples - I'm trying to do some solo classical right now with EW Pianos.

The Tonehammer demo's are great, the soft/quiet end sounds fabulous - as does the whole dynamic range.
I'm grabbin' it this month :-)

I installed tonight and ran into a problem with major crackling on all instances of Play.  (Uising an Edirol FA-101) I checked on the forum and there were others with the same problem.  The solution I found was to change my buffer settings on the ASIO panel to normal from large(which I have to use when working on large projects) and that cleaned up the problem.  I normally use 44.1 but when I changed it to 48 it also cleared up the problem even with the Large buffer setting.  I don't know what will happen on larger projects where I have to use the larger buffer settings.  I may have to use the normal and then freeze all the synths to avoid having to use the Larger buffer.

Sonar Platinum 64bit, Win 8.1 Pro 64bit,  Quad Core 3.2GHz,  16G ram, Edirol FA 101, Nvidia

The Insert Soft Synths Options menu and the initial setup of the program before you begin the actual recording.
That would be awesome if you could make a video on that. I'm sure it would greatly help in the process of getting this program to work to it's full ability in Sonar. :)
