garrigus You can't create your own REX files with RXP. You can only do that with the ReCycle software from Propellerheads. Scott Hey, Scott. Is Recycle really the only tool that can create REX loops? It is kind of old and not cheap. Is there no competition?

I've looked but haven't found anything. I've had recycle for years, and you're right....it aint cheap. My solution is to create groove clips in SONAR.

I'm pretty sure Recycle is the only one. Scott -- Scott R. chuckebaby after you create a groove clip does it automatically turn in to a rex file? No, Groove clips are not exactly the same as REX files. They are similar in that they are sliced audio loops, however, REX files also contain extra information like MIDI data corresponding to the slices. That's why when you load a REX file in RXP, you can drag-and-drop the note icon into a MIDI track and use those notes to trigger the slices in a REX file. Scott -- Scott R. i like using rxp, most times am dr rex/octorex, but its pretty good for rexfiles, quick for getting slices arranged in prv, the one in fl works good as well, slicex, you can assign different slices to the different channels in fl............the only thing thats puts me off using rex files and loops is they are all processed already

Hey Charlie, Ah ha! Trying to steal your brother's copy of the book, eh? Just kidding. I'm glad to hear you got hooked on the book. Yeah, I try to tell everyone that if they read it from cover to cover, they'll be using SONAR like a pro by the end. Still working on the videos... I think people will enjoy these as well. I hope to get them finished pretty soon, but still can't provide a release date yet. In the meantime, the SONAR X1 Power! book was also just released in the eBook edition. Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. mattox82 Hey Scott, Any reason I cant buy the eBook in Australia? Kindle store is saying its only avaliable in the US? Hey Matt, Hmmm... not sure. I'll see if I can find anything out from the publisher sometime this week. In the meantime, can you try contacting Amazon customer service and see what they have to say? Thanks! Scott -- Scott R.
