are the drum sets in Dimension GM standard

Hi All,

I have a Yamaha DTExtreme II drum set. I like to play the parts on the kit to get the midi data into Sonar but I am not as fond of the drum sounds on the Yamaha as much as I like the drum sounds in Dimension Pro. So I am wondering if I set my drum kit to output a GM kit, can I just have the output of the midi track go to any one of the Acoustic Room kits in Dimension and have it work i.e. the snare really is a snare and not a chime :-)

Thanks in advance for your reply. This would be great if it is this easy. If not though, are there any suggestions/hints on setting up some kind of template/drum map that would allow me to just pick a Dimension kit and have it triggered by the yamaha drum set.

Cheers!

Tom

Sorry, Dimension Pro isn't General MIDI.

    Rene

Is there a way to create a PRV map to match the kits, then?

    Thanks for any help

:) I don't mean to necro an old post as my first post but this was exactly what I was looking for.  Good thing the search function works pretty good here.
