asio

Hi, I am using a Fast Track Ultra interface. I though I had set things up for asio but I was wrong.

If using asio will the audio out (from the project) have to go through the fast track or can that go through my pc sound card?  tried various settings today but got nowhere.

If you use the ASIO driver for the Fast Track Ultra both input and output must be routed to the Fast Track Ultra. The ASIO specification only permits one I/O driver to be used at a time.

Does all that just need the one USB cable and feed the outputs on to an amplifier from the rear of the Ultra? Do I need a special USB cable?
Thanks for your time.

A standard USB cable handles all the I/O between the computer and the Fast Track Ultra.

If your are using passive speakers, the line out from the Fast Track Ultra connects to an amp. The sound card in your PC will not be used at all when running your DAW. If you wish, use the Fast Track Ultra be the default sound device for Windows too.

Any USB cable will do, there is nothing special about the connection.
