loops randy..the browser..i believe thats the only preview at host tempo in sonar isnt it?...lol..
just figured out some loops are previewing some are not...no ryme or reason..both audio waves..rex files work fine..so does midi preview..its just the wave files and not all of them just half of them...i think its got something to do with my aud.in.

Ah, - well, shows you how often I've previewed loops.

Do you mean some loops aren't previewing at all?--or they just aren't previewing at your project tempo-?

there all previewing just fine..just some of them are not previewing at host tempo.there is an option for this in the media menu but it has no effect.
what i find strange is the aud in. it keeps changing every time i open sonar..it never did that before..it might change once every two-three weeks or when ever it need to configure something new..but not everytime i open sonar?..something is up and i dont know what but im on the hunt trying to figure it out.

thank you by the way sir.   :)

The datestamp on aud.ini will change every time SONAR rewrites it. If you're not making any changes to settings, it may be a minor bug. But I doubt it's related to your loop preview problem.

Make a copy of aud.ini, then open SONAR and close it. The datestamp will have changed, but if you use the FC command to compare aud.ini to your copy you will find that nothing in it has actually changed.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Charlie - when you say you have both patches, you are referring to the Quick Fixes right? Not just X1a and X1b?
I just want to make sure of that, as one of the quick fixes was suppose to correct the "preview at host tempo" problem that seemed to be introduced with X1b.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

there are also tow others that keep updating as well...they are.

    instrmap.ini
    cntrlsurface.dat

ive noticed if i just open sonar and close it..they dont update..but if i open the preference menu there dates change to present..now ive gone weeks with out aud.in changing/updating..why all of a sudden now everytime i open a preference menu it updates?
and why are some loops previewing fine at host tempo..but others are not..all work fine except for wave files..and even that..some wave files work at host tempo...others do not.

so my question is now changing to..what dll. is responsable for preveiwing host tempo..is it the iztope radius 64x.dll?..though i am still curious as to why those three keep changing evertime..it never did that before

    i use a v studio as a interface/control surface.

I'm not sure if that answers my question or not Did you install the latest Quick Fix? If not, please read on ...

Quick Fix 244 fixed the "Preview @ Host Tempo", but left a small problem with MP3's
Quick Fix 245 fixed the MP3 problem left by 244, but created a magnetic strength bug.
Quick Fix 246 fixed the magnetic strength problem introduced by 245
.... things have been pretty stable from that point on

If you don't already have the latest quick fix installed, please install it. You only need to install the latest (246) as all others (244 & 245) are included.  If you run into problems, there is roll back information provided. You have nothing to lose.

I really don't know about the aud.ini thing you are reporting, but the Preview at Host should be fixed if you install the latest quick fix. It was widely reported after X1b came out, and the quickfixes took care of it.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

thank you...i appreciate this i really do..but i do have something to lose..those quick fixes are there for only people who need them and if youve read some things here about the quickfixes creating problems like the one thread right now"cant select midi after 246" i just dont wanna chance it..but i will research it because i thought it was only for mp3s at host tempo..let me check it out again..i know there is a roll back feature as well..thank you for this..really..thank you.sorry if i sound lame...lol..your help is appreciated.     :)

those quick fixes are there for only people who need them

If you are having problems with "preview at host tempo", do you not qualify?

Take a look at the 244 quick fix specs, that is where the big "preview at host tempo" was fixed - and convered three separate problem reports. 245 just corrected the MP3 portion. With a roll back option in place, you really have nothing to lose.

    Good luck in your efforts.

EDIT: I just reviewed the thread about Midi Problems using QuickFix 246 and can see your point. If this is going to mess you up, then you are likely in a waiting game. Or - you could just do quickfix 244 which should take care of your "preview at host tempo". I believe midi is fine with that update.
