audio device

I just purchased sonar 7 producer edition, and when i go to open the program i get a message saying " there are no audio devices for your current driver model". im using my acer aspire laptop with  realtek hd audio device.  i've also tried using a usb cable to record but it won let me choose that option. any suggestions? I'm new to using this program so any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks
