audio drums to midi. Insights??

our band has recorded some audio drums.  we aren't pleased with the sound and are a bit pressed for time and money.  Does anyone have any experience/insight into this?  how to go about doing?

Melodyne can do this easily. However, I see the you are using Sonar 8.3. I don't know if Melodyne has a XP Version. You can check. I hope this helps you.

Audio snap will work but it really depends on what you have for tracks. You need a separate track for each drum part and with as little leakage as possible.
You can have some leakage and adjust the transient sensitivity level and the false triggers will be diminished.
Read the help file on using audio snap to convert to midi.
Make sure to keep the dynamics ( velocity) as well.
You can get a more realistic sound if you do all your quantasizing first before you convert, and then mix the original with the samples.
