With no other info to go on, it sounds like a sample rate mismatch. Did you import any audio that wasn't created in your current project?

my soundcard is a realtekHD... i tried using ableton live before and did the same thing happnd before, and theres is an option there to turn of "warp". and then the sound will go back to normal...

is there anyway to match the sample rate?

i actually added the audio in my project...and all im gonna do is add another track to go with the audio i added...

You are limited to record only 16 bit @ 44.1 or maybe 48khz.

Check your sample rate & bit rate for your project and adjust as necessary. The piuece of audio you imported is probably at a diffrent reate to your project as jinga8 already said.

You're not likely to get much joy using your onboard sound device as you will be stuck using MME drivers.
