audio track desync (slows down) compared to midi track during recording

hi! as the title suggests, during recording the audio track progressively becomes slower and slower in comparison to the midi track - how do I fix this?

    Its a sound card issue and maybe a pc and sound card issue combined. Need more info

    Your post makes has absolutely no clues as to what you are doing and which equipment is involved.
    Details please!
    Are you playing along with a MIDI track ? is your timing master set to audio or midi? etc.

    hi! sorry for my stupidity in this area- I am playing along with a MIDI track, timing master set to midi.

    to clarify the info needed. We need your sound card make and model, like Motu ultralite, and then we need its settings inside sonar, like its ASIO buffer and driver mode or WDM setting.
    Then we need your pc specs
    If your using an board sound chip, then that may be your problems, as they are not recommended for use and they have horrible clicking (sync) and horrible drivers for record/mixing
