audiodg.exe... no one has had a problem with this??

It has happened only four times and all in the last couple of weeks. Whatever it does, it takes one core to 100% usage... not good.

I checked it with processlibrary and they wanted to sell me a registry cleaning program, I don't think I need that. I can look at my registry with hijackthis.exe and remove anything that isn't supossed to be there but I am not sure about this file, what it does, if I need it, and why it has just started acting up.

Any ideas? I ran Norton Registry Cleaner... maybe that fixed it I guess I will find out soon enough.

edit> I double clicked my speaker icon and checked enhancements, they were off on "speakers and headphones" but were still on "communications headphones". Enhancements are now off on both... I found this while looking online for a soultion (and waiting for the neighbor to finish with the weedeater and blower...) uh.

Thanks,

Julien

    I also found this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981013

but am a little nervous about applying it. Has anyone else had this problem. IT seems to be a memory leak in this exe file.

I haven't had that exact issue, but I'm having an issue that started happening in the past couple of months where I can't adjust the latency for my ASIO M-Audio drivers when audiodg.exe is running.  (This formerly didn't happen.) When I change the latency it doesn't stick, but if I kill the process I can change the latency.  I'm using Sonar 8.5 Studio.

EDIT:  I was able to fix this by unchecking "Share Drives With Other Programs" in Sonar Audio settings and rechecking "Allow programs to take exclusive control of this device" in in the Windows sound card settings.  I restarted the Windows Audio service and it seems to be fixed.

Thanks, I checked the device and next time I use X1 I wil check the audio/drive sharing there, I appreciate the input.
