automation change in middle of clip

I want to turn off an oscillator in the middle of a clip is there a way to make the automation not just stop at the start and end of the clip but anywhere in the center? Or do I just have to create another instrument for this?

    Can't you use an automation lane and just draw the points wherever you'd like?

    yeah but you can only do points at the start of a clip and end of a clip. You can't put any in the middle.

    Can't you just press where the red arrow is and then use the drop down arrow where it says 'volume' and then pick the parameter you'd like? I can then draw points wherever I want.

    I guess I am using the wrong terms. I mean that I cant put points in the middle of a measure or is a measure. Thanks for help RSMCGUITAR.

    You can put nodes on an automation lane anywhere as suggested above by Scott turn off the snap whilst you do it.

    Max, when you say you want to turn an oscillator off, what exactly are you trying to do?
     
    If you just want the synth to stop sounding there may be other ways, depending on what synth you're using.
