automation "moves" automatically with audio file

hey guys,
everytime i move an audio file in a track around ,the automation also moves with it and creates a big mess of knots and curves, which i don`t want. Is there an option to disable this function ?

I'm pretty sure there is but I'm not on my DAW at the moment. It's one of those things I don't use often..... it's a "set and forget" function.

Hi, could it be related to the track's edit filter control? Like clip automation vs track automation?
I made a test and it worked.

Yes, sorry. When you create an automation envelope you have to set the track's edit filter control to an automation mode, then when you're done you can set it to clip mode again.
Also there are 2 automation types, as you can create envelopes to an audio clip or to the entire track.

See the link for more information:

I hope this helps.

Best regards

There are options in the Copy and Paste Special dialogs to control what data is manipulated by those functions.
