b_x tuner settings with SPLAT & 18i20

I bought the b_x tuner for $9 today, thinking it would be a snap. It has very specific buffer sizes

16,  32,  48,  64,  80,   96, 112, and 7 more

With my Scarlett MixControl, I don't have the ability to specify the buffer size, just the ms.  (1 or 2 or ... etc)

Do I have any options or did I blow $9?
Thanks
Michael

    Hi Michael,

I got it too and have just installed it.

I have a Steinberg interface not a Focusrite one but I didn't see any options for buffer size in bx_tuner, it just worked without changing any settings after I had activated it.

Here's what I did to test it...

    i. Create a mono track in Sonar for guitar, set the input to one of my audio interface inputs, enabled monitoring.

ii. Insert bx_tuner (64 bit VST only) in the FX bin of the track and turn it on.

    That's all I did.

Btw my soundcard buffer setting is 64 samples which gives input latency 3.958ms and output latency 4.938 (total 8.896ms).
Are you sure there's no way to set the number of samples in the Scarlett driver settings?

Thanks ZT. A window or actually more like a stripe appeared saying the buffer size was not allowed or wouldn't work.
The buffer sizes that are, are listed in the manual.

Ah I see. I wonder if you could change the ms value of the audio card to something that would give a bx tuner compatible buffer size? Then again you wouldn't want to spoil your latency for the sake of a tuner. Could always query it with PA.. They seem helpful and may also be willing to give a refund.

As I understand it a 1.0ms buffer setting would equate to 48 Samples at 48 kHz.
So you could use 48Khz for the project setting and try setting the MixControl buffer to a ms value that gives a valid multiple of 48 which is compatible with bx_tuner.
    e.g. 2ms would be 96 samples at 48Khz, 4ms would be 192 samples etc.

Right ZT    But I have some older projects at 44.1kHz. Also, 1ms shows up as 45 samples in the Preferences window at 48kHz
There is no window BTW, just a notice appears (in red letters) "Buffer size unsupported"

Support ticket sent. I trust that I'll get it sorted.
    Thanks
    Michael
