"Curious to hear what folks think - don't be shy...I can take it."

Here you go, not too shy. Can't have been out that long or rung much out with 36 posts? I just completely reformatted my system, re-installed the OS, and all of the SW and plugs... That's what I call "ringing out my system..."

    Also, I checked this;
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/posts/choinga

And I see what appears to be a pattern? I'm curious to hear what you think about that? Don't be shy, I can take it.

Seems like someone who enjoys the smell of their own farts? i.e., look at me, listen to me? And regarding anyone else... Well, I could come up with many comments of how Mr. "ringing out my" whatever would have to say about anyone else's stuff? But he'd have to listen to it first? And that's not going to happen... (no danger of that ;-) He'll B and Moan about this observation? The question is, "is it accurate?" Not is it harsh? The boy will think it's harsh :-D GFY (Good For You!) Stop me when I start lying? It hurts sometimes? The truth? And 99% won't say it (even though they think it?) So I speak for them.

I paid for my Cake SW? Didn't pirate it... And I listen to and comment on works by others? (honest comments) These two things separate me from many others. However, it is what it is, 90+ percent will be "exactly" like this. And people will listen? (not me, but people will listen...) And that will encourage similar behavior. i.e., "look at me! listen to me! I've been gone for a while, and there is little or no chance of me listening to you? BUT LISTEN TO ME!!!" Stop me when I start lying please? (p.s., I'm not lying?)

Could have picked out any 10 of the first 20 posts and probably made similar observations? It's not personal, it's more of a general observation. However, nothing I've said is untrue. It's a general observation, the OP just "fits the mold."

Dude WTF?  Here's what I think...I didn't ask some grumpy hillbilly to go check my post history and give me his opinion on whether or not I'm qualified to say I'm ringing out my system???  This is a 'song' forum...I didn't realize I had to pass the "Band19 I'm a loser...let me troll through your post history before I post something useful..." test before discussing MUSIC.  What a tool...

I've been a Sonar user for about 6 years and I posted on here a bunch back in my early days but seemed to have lost my history when the forum layout changed a while back.  Strangely, my old login worked...but i just noticed that it shows I joined last August.  Like I said, I remember a big forum upgrade and I haven't been here since...UNTIL I came back looking at what was new and the finally a few months ago starting again to get my studio back together...

If you read through that post thread, it's pretty self-explanatory...I was getting all my stuff back and up and running after it basically sat for almost 2 years after we moved into a new house and in that time period after I upgraded to X3, I ran into a device issue.  A new PCIe card fixed it up and now I'm able to record stuff now without the transport drop outs I was experiencing.

I don't get where you are coming from - why the d'bag attitude?  I haven't sat down to really record in quite some time and I post a snippet of work and get some a-hole with nothing better to do on here with the first post.

What the hell happened in here?

If I'm lying, we'll soon see you commenting on many posts by others here? I'm sure it comes soon... Surely I'm wrong and it comes soon? Dozens of observations on others? Probably within the next two or three hours? I'm sure I'll be proved wrong within the next hour or so? Maybe two hours? Certainly no more than three hours? I'm sure I'll be proven wrong. (Please don't take this personally? You are no different that 80 to 90 percent of those who comment here? So again, it's more of a general observation? Not a specific observation) However, that does not mean it is inaccurate? On the contrary... I deal with statistics on a daily basis, and you can't argue with math. It is what it is.

The vast majority (as yourself "example" say LOOK AT ME!! LOOK AT ME!!) yet, fail to take the few moments (really it doesn't take much time?) to look at anyone other than themselves... It's a simple fact? It offends people when they hear it, and it shows them in this light? But again, "it is what it is." I'm confident this observation will be met with vulgarity? Ad Hominem attacks? Etc... You may have to look some of the words up? I am only a mirror. If you don't like what you see? Change yourself, not the mirror.

    ...sigh...

Just what every forum needs...the resident grumpy old codger who anoints himself as the resident expert by virtue of not having a life and posting multiple times per day over the course of several years and enjoys brow beating and berating newcomers.  You should get out more...perhaps try doing more than shooting things, attempting covers at classic rock songs and pretending you are a psychologist on an internet forum analyzing people you don't know, have never met and would be amazed at how dumb you would look if you actually met/knew them and compared your pathetic life to theirs.

As for me, my original post was genuine.  I was just happy to be back after a very long hiatus.  I hadn't mixed a song in years and was honestly looking for some constructive feedback.  Instead, I got "Band19"...aka "Loser#1".

You're attempted psychoanalysis was quite interesting though...yet, very wrong...but certainly sheds light on your own very obvious issues.  So, what you're saying to me is that 80-90% of the people that contribute to the forum are 'like me', whatever the hell that means...and you're the normal one?  Um, I think you need to keep that mirror you're trying to get me to look in.  You're going to need it...a whole room full of them.

Simply proves my original point - worthless old hillbilly posting 100 times a month for a couple years straight thinking he's Mr. Moderator and instead of contributing something positive to the forum decides to pass judgement and be an a-hole.  I'm sure I could find countless examples but I actually have a life and don't care enough to go trolling through any more posts than I have to (I had to go find something you posted so I could at least listen to your, ahem..."music"...).

And you're right, I will continue to post here from time to time...and I'm sure you'll stalk me around like the loser you are and jump into a thread with your worthless and pathetic two cents.

But that's OK...you're not the first idiot I've run into on the internet who thinks that the sheer number of posts actually means something...or even worse...makes them smart?  (and I love your supposition that working with statistics every day MAKES you smart? Your grammar certainly doesn't do that for you...)

I've been a Sonar user for over 6 years and as mentioned was on this forum in a previous iteration and that was the first song I had ever posted.  In fact, if you even went to my page you'd see that was all I had up there.  You'll also find that many others contributed to that thread and it was a learning experience for all involved...and I was happy to share, in detail, my solution so that others who run into a similar problem could benefit.

All that said, I'm happy to be back and knew I'd run into a toolbox such as yourself in due time...every village has an idiot...just didn't think I'd find the resident Cakewalk Forum one on my first real post back.

    Have a nice life.

Thanks, I'll be around.  I'm sure he has a reputation...I just didn't care enough to go looking through his posts to figure out what it was.

LOL, went and looked back and clicked on the most recent post.  Check this **** out.

    I'm playing and singing everything.
Lots of vocals? Lots going on with the drums, the keys? You should listen :-) LOTS of work went in to it...

Playing the bass, playing all of the guitars, and the Hammond, and the drums (I played every hit)

I'm just glad to have my DAW back!! It's been almost 2 months... I know there are haters? I know, and I'm not saying without good reason... But you gotta love this shiz?

I guess you just need 2000+ posts to break your arm patting yourself on the back looking for people to stroke your ego on this forum...according to Band19 anyway...

And my personal favorite from that thread:

Especially, thank you to those who gave qualitative input... I can't tell you how much I appreciate you!

Oh, you like qualitative input...you really appreciate it?  So, THAT'S why you jumped into my thread and gave ZERO input and acted like a raging douchebag?  Wow dude - you are a piece of work.  Pot...meet kettle?  Are you sure you are good at math?  I'm thinking not...or maybe your math dyslexic...YOU are the 80-90% douchebag and WE are the 10-20% that roll our eyes at trolls like you?

Here's the real deal.  Mr. Band19 spends lots of time on Bye Bye 49 and it sounds worse than something my 10 year old could throw together using Garage Band on the iPad...so he gets pissed at dudes coming in here who haven't touched gear for years (and most likely have much nicer gear than he does) and put a mix together that far exceeds his musical and mixing abilities?  Yeah.  I get it.
