Now that I've been starting to get some proper medical attention again I've been cutting back. Beer is a pretty good pain reliever but it takes its own toll when you have to guzzle it to put a dent in the ouchies. It also gets quite expensive. Hoping I'll be back down to 2-3 a day whilst I fiddle about musically before dinner. That is a non oppressive amount for me.

I've never found beer (or other alcohol) to be any use for pain relief, the dehydration it causes seems to make it worse.

I agree about the dehydration factor of most alcohol exacerbating pain issues. I've never really been into hard liquor although I do enjoy a nice snootful of scotch or whiskey on occasion... but yeah, I haven't bothered for a looong time because it really does seem to make things worse. Wine seems to be beneficial in small amounts but then not so much. With beer, if I'm really ganked out, I can just plaster myself and although I'll feel like crap the next day from the hangover my back and leg are loosened up a bit better. Do that for too long though and shnizz starts gettin' dark and very problematic. There is now science stating that 2 beers has the same analgesic(?) effect that gobbling some ibuprofen does. Beyond that point it's inconsistent. Also I drink a lot of water in the morning and before bed and after I'm done with my beers I switch to watered down cranberry juice with a splash of red wine in it just for taste. So maybe I'm hydrated enough to counter the beer but not for harder booze. Either way I've only suffered 2 severe physical addictions in my life. Nicotine and beer. I had been getting both very much under control until I lost my docs so I'd like to get back on that path again. To quote Lethal Weapon dood... I'm gettin' too old for this [REDACTED].

Oh yeah, democracy types have always loved themselves a good lynching. There's nothing more directly democratic than all the locals gettin' together with a united "you know he done it". Am I right? But, but, but...it's totally different now right? Of course, we're goin' after them fellers that took our slaves away! Yee haw!

BTW... I think Voda was invoking the old "Dixiecrat" fallacy. That all ended after the Civil Rights Act and then the Southern Strategy hoovered up the misplaced into the "Party of Lincoln". Also not getting a job (a rather important one that impacts hundreds of millions of lives) isn't nearly the same as getting beaten, dragged and strung up from a tree for the color of your skin. Also, also... even without the assault allegations the perjury, mysteriously disappearing debts, emotionally blatant partisan outbursts, etc should disqualify anyone for the position. But he believes POTUS cannot be subject to criminal investigation/charges... therefore nothing else matters, ya? Ram him through!

Nah, if you invoke the same principle used to hang black men all over the country, even less than a hundred years ago, I'm going to remind you that you are...you know, invoking the same principle used to hang black men all over the country. It's not until you remind people how horrible their ideas are that they realize how horrible their ideas are. We used to believe the survivors, no matter the lack of corroboration or denials by the accused, and people got murdered over it, and we all shake our heads and judge the living crap out of them. And then, what? Copy their principles...to try again a hundred years later? Only in the Twilight Zone do I actually have to type that out to otherwise grown adults. Regression, by the way, isn't evolution folks. So yes, you want to resemble the southern dixiecrats and their really cool ideas on justice? Knock yourself out. The party of Lincoln won't be quiet while you do it, though. If half the people in Wendy's go to Burger King and half the people in Burger King go to Wendy's, that doesn't change the signs. The party of Lincoln has always stood for rights conferred on merit, while the party of slavery has always stood for rights conferred by identity. Democrats revere democracy, republicans revere the republic. Philosophies and ideologies spill out from there and are predictable and timeless. Only the current events and local fads change day to day.

No worries, but in all fairness, I wasn't really going after you Beepster, just the thread in general. Most of the time I chuckle at the threads created by the local clique and their high fiver somewhat-terribly-disguised political posts, but I still enjoy a go at doing an unannounced cannonball in their swimming pool.
