best wireless headphones?
no, this is not for my DAW. I need some wireless headphones to connect to my living room stereo in order to listen to the TV while I am on my treadmill in the adjacent room. the TV is visible, but hardly audible over the noise of the treadmill (and my panting!) unless I crank the volume of the TV up and disturb everyone else in the house (and if momma ain't happy...) I don't want to spend a fortune on them but I'd like some that won't cut in and out as I walk or run on the treadmill. should I get RF or IR? any recommendations that won't break the bank? I'm looking for decent ones but really don't want to spend too much. thanks.

Do what the rest of us do... Just listen to your IPOD/MP3. I've got an FM transmitter for my Car... Do you have one of those? That might work.

Sennheiser RS120 gets good reviews on the budget side; about $60...

tap - sorry I wasn't clear - I wanna watch TV while I exercise instead of listening to music - that's why I want the wireless headphones instead of listening to an mp3 player. bats and mark - thanks! those look pretty good.

I've got the Sennheiser TR120 and they are "collecting dust". Even close I had problems with reception and drifting off frequency and having to retune.

that's what I was worried about and thus the questions about RF vs IR.

the older senn's i had, were IR i never had problems with that set. in fact, i used it during tracking, so i could freely walk around, and not trip over cables.... they sounded almost as good as my sony mix headphones.

Does the TV have a headphone jack ? I hope so or you will need some that can take an optical in and decode dolby digital. Most large TVs don't have headphone jacks and the audio outs on them only work from analog inputs and the NTSC tuner. So if you want to watch digital TV from an antenna guess what ? the stereo analog audio outs are dead. I'm looking at the Sony digital ones, seem to be about the best deal. The ones I was looking at are the Sony MDR-DS3000, they will take both stereo analog and optical digital inputs. Seem to be about $150.00 most places.

frank - actually the stereo receiver has a 1/4" headphone jack and that's what I'd be connecting to. $150 is a little more than I was hoping to spend - I was hoping to get away with $50 to $100 at the most. gonzo - thanks again!

Oh, ok. Yeah I thought about just getting a used receiver with dolby digital decoding and a headphone jack. I have plenty of headphones. However, I'm not sure I could find one for under $150. It's a shame (or maybe sham) that big TVs don't have a headphone jack. If you pay $179 for a TV you get a headphone jack, if you play $2000 for one you don't. Gerrrr...

Beagle obviously that's a feature you didn't pay for, frank! Yeah... well I didn't have the option of paying for it because at the time there were no 42" TVs with a headphone jack and as far as I know there are still none.

It's the Best Buy brand and Consumer Reports rated it highly. It's been working well for me, and wasn't too expensive. They're even cheaper now.

Do you get sound out the headphone jack when tuning in a channel via the ATSC tuner (digital TV) ?

Yep. When you plug in headphones, it mutes the TV speakers and puts whatever was in the speakers into the headphones. And whatever input source is selected--ATSC tuner, HDMI, composite video, s-video, etc--the corresponding audio source is selected as well. In other words, whatever you're watching, that's what you're listening to.

I think these are the best one as per my view Klipsch Image S4, Shure SE530 Sound Isolating Earphones both are good and has good sound quality.
