bounce to??

For some reason I can't "bounce to clip". It's faded out on right click menu so not an option.
I don't know why.

I've some reverb I just want to save into the wav but I need to reverse the wav after I do this.
I've tried freezing the thing but for some reason freeze makes the clip longer (with silence) so when I reverse the sound is in the wrong place.

Do I have to actually bounce to a track just to get this done or is there a way of doing it as quickly?
I'm hoping there's a way to get bounce to clips working.

    Just checking the obvious but you do have the clip selected?

    yes I select the clip, I can do other thing to it like process effect, groove clip but just no bounce clip.

    More often than not, whenever I've reversed a clip I've always had to nudge it to the correct time location.

    Position locked clip stops bounce to clip working.

    Well I never knew that.....and I am pretty sure that could well be the cause of it all.
