bouncing tracks that include effectrix
hello forum members, i've been doing way too much cross-foruming,but i'm not getting any responses either. the problem i've been having is this:effectrix works great on individual tracks, but it vanishes when i bounce. i've tried everything i can think of(which isn't much). i see from some other posts that some of you have used this effect. could anybody help me out? thank-you matt ritti

Can you give a complete listing of how you bounce? What options are used? Have you tried freeze? Welcome to the forum Matt.

hello john, and thank-you... i can't remember off the top of my what is and isn't enabled in the bounce menu(?) anyway,i've just been hitting the ok button thus far.. r.fehse from sugarbytes suggested disabling fast bounce, which works but i wish it didn't take so long(is there some benefit to this seeming trade-off?) i believe i've tried freezing the track and that didn't work(but i can try it again) anyway, if disabling fast bounce is my only option at this point, i guess i can't gripe about it. thanks for the reply and any further advice would be great. matt ritti

r.fehse from sugarbytes suggested disabling fast bounce, which works but i wish it didn't take so long(is there some benefit to this seeming trade-off?) I can't help but wonder if this plug is designed to be a "real time" effect (if there is such a thing!) It does so many different things (so it would seem) so that bouncing (or off line rendering) just isn't an option. With the makers suggesting a real time bounce, and not offering a setting for bounce/freeze, what else could it be? Brian

Be sure the bounce includes the FX and the envelopes and it should happen correctly for you. I believe there are check boxes in the bounce window that determine what goes with the bounce and what doesn't. Be sure the apply FX and envelopes boxes are selected. In the bounce/export box.....select WHAT YOU HEAR as the preset and that's exactly what you get.

It can be frozen, but in order to hear it when exporting outside of Sonar you have to do a real time bounce.

thank-you for the replies everybody, r. fehse tells me fast bounce works on their side oddly enough... i'll check the export box for the appropriate options... does exporting outside sonar refer to exporting a mixed down project to an audio file like wma? that would be a pain, but what isn't? thanks again gentlemen, m.r

back again, i tried feezing the track, enabling what a you hear and deleting some freeware plug-ins. the first two didn't change anything, but they were good suggestions.i doubt deleting the freeware will change anything either. do any of you know anything about silverspike's tape it plug-in?i can't figure it out since it involves recording and saving an individual track as a wav file. if i may draw an inference from stonehouse's post, i must say that real time fx are a g.d.pain in the neck thanks again m.r.

r. fehse tells me fast bounce works on their side oddly enough... i'll check the export box for the appropriate options... does exporting outside sonar refer to exporting a mixed down In Sonar, AFAIK, a bounce means rendering a midi perfomance to an audio clip - not the same thing as an export. But definitely similar. You may bounce a midi performance to an audio clip so that you can apply effects to the resulting audio clip, and a freeze is essentially the same thing (with a built in undo button.) However, selecting for export means preparing all tracks for moving to another media type, whether that be CD, MP3 or going to some other program for mastering/mixing. (Right guys?) You have a lot more things to decide when doing an export. And maybe your FX doesn't export well in Sonar (but could bounce!) Brian

hello stone house and thank-you, i guess at this point things will be what they will be(disable fast bounce) far from ideal, but could be worse(i.e.;no results period....) all input has been appreciated m.r.
