buying boxed version

Hi, i will soon be buying Sonar X2 as a boxed version and i am wanting to know if the boxed versions get periodically updated by Cakewalk to keep up with the latest version updates and bug-fixes etc. So does Cakewalk release the boxed versions with the very latest firmware so to speak, and is this identifiable on the actual outside of the box.

This whole thread is about me not being very computer savvy with patch updates etc and wanting to avoid such things so the best thing in my case is to wait awhile for an acclaimed update release which is touted as stable and then i will jump in.

No, there is only one boxed version. All updates are provided as downloads from their website.

There is no computer savvy required for X2 updates... just do not change the default install paths and settings suggested by the program... for to do so certainly invites issues.

Any updates that are issued will be as downloads. As a registered user, you will be notified when they are available for download.

Allow the program to install using the defaults as indicated above.... that way all updates will install to the correct places and be recognized.

Thanks guys; i'm glad to know the updates will be pain-free so that's a bit of anxiety swept away. Some things about making music on the computer give me the jitters but it sounds like i won't have to worry about this aspect of things. Cheers.
