buzz in R channel

i recorded some important speaking events recently with my handheld Tascam GTR1. i recorded it in wav 24bit. I've used this recorder a LOT in the past year and its always been great imo but apparantly, the right channel must have gone bad just before this recording because when i imported the filed into sonar there is a loud buzz in the right side. If i pan 100% left the buzz is totally gone. I need some help figuring out how to fix this recording. So far what i tried was to pan 100% left and exported this file and then reimported it hoping i could pan it far right in another track but that didn't work as the far R side is blank. How can i take a clean left channel and copy it to the right side so that i have a balanced stereo file?

never mind. Problem solved. Solution was to import it as mono file. this allowed me to then pan it R and blend it in with the good L channel.

Glad you figured that out. If it's mono it's mono. Not a big deal for spoken word at all. When you export it from Sonar it will generate a stereo file anyhow..but it's still basically mono unless you added efxs.
