cakewalk / DSF proteus pack drum maps

a little gift for xmas for owners of the pack

a few drum maps

well 78 of them.. work in progress.. so far mo' phat ones and a few planet earth ones...

they take a long while to do, so if you use em, perhaps think about making a map or 5 that I haven't done :) ... I don't mind making em, but it'd be nice if others chipped in as well (and it also helps speed up the process)

anyways , Happy Christmas

I don't know if the file has been removed, but when I click on the link, it just takes me to filedropper.com's Home page, where I can upload a file. There's no way to download the file from there, that I see.

Ahh...I guess I didn't see in your original post that these aren't for Proteus VX. I don't have the other Proteus software, and I didn't realize that until I unzipped the files and realized I couldn't use them.

    Sorry about that, chief!

    Thanks, I'll try that.

What do you think of those packages? I've looked at the Planet Earth stuff, and some of the other E-mu stuff, and I've considered buying them, but I haven't heard any samples from them, so I don't know what they sound like.

your using the EMU ones right?!?! that you load into proteus VX , the free one?

well before buying them , I knew the sounds had been used a LOT commercially.

I can't comment on the EMU packs as they are a different thing from the DSF ones.. no doubt they are sampled from the same things..

have you looked at the patch list ? I made one for ALL the packs, but that only applies the the DSF ones.. (oddly I don't even get a credit)

I have an Emu MP7 Command Station (I love that thing), and most of those drum maps apply to the Mo Phatt ROM (I have the Proteus and the Rob Papen TSCY installed too), but not all of them. If you, by any chance had the text files and were so kind to send them to me I could assign those note names applicable to the presets in the (huge) .ins file I've already created for the MP7.

My email is in the Readme file for the Roland FP7 .ins file that is a couple of posts under this :)

    Thanks in advance,

    Jose.

well drum maps are in their own format and don't have the text import like ins, I don't have them in a text format.

Well, nevermind. As a matter of fact, there are text files with the sample maps available at the emu website, but they are by instrument (layer) and not by preset. It is only a matter of editing them and having a look at which one applies at each preset by going into edit mode at the synth itself. I just was wondering if you had at least the text editing already done. :)

well if you got a good editor (i use crimson editor) and do a lot of search  / replace etc.. it doesn't take to long..

do you know dos tricks like say renaming the extension ".xyz" then doing

    copy *.xyz inst-list.txt

    etc

I've never used drum maps before, so I thought I'd create/edit one before I'd say I'll help create maps. I never realized that if you load a map and all the entries are set to a different port/channel, that you have to edit each entry. And you have to do this every time you load a drum map into a new project. WHAT A PAIN IN THE KEISHSTER.
Why can't I just do a shift-select all? Tell me there is an easier way (to edit all the port/channels at once), or else what use is this feature.

To change multiple rows at the same time select them and hold CTL+Shift while you change the output port.
