cakewalk c:/documents and settings/all users/application data

i have 206Mo Cakewalk folder in c:/documents and settings/all users/application data
and also 198 Mo Cakewalk folder in c:/documents and settings/PsychatoR/application data

is there a way to delete 1 of them or even them both?
or maybe just delete 1 and move the other to D: ?
i hate when softwares force install to C:
C: is for windows system only (XP).
I made a small partition (12Go) to make nice small Acronis Images to burn to a 4.5 DVD.
so im now making a cleanup of C:

    I'm sorry I don't understand what 206Mo and 198 Mo means?

the application data is necessary for sonar to run properly.  if you have it in 2 locations, I don't know which location sonar is using to access it.

I think, however, sonar will recreate it if necessary, but you will lose all of your customized settings if you do that.

Look under Options>Global>Folders to find out which folders Sonar is using.  You can change the filepaths here if necessary.

Do you have 2 different versions of Sonar installed?  If so, you can set both copies to access the same folders if you wish.

    I don't understand 206Mo and 198Mo either.

Sounds like you are using XP? Probably time to update. That isn't supported anymore I don't think.

Both are essential and should not be deleted. Neither one is taking up a huge amount of disk space, so I wouldn't worry about them.

Windows stores "application data" (any data files needed by a specific program) in separate locations for each user configured in the system. This allows multiple users to each have their own settings, e.g. their own presets for plugins. There is an additional folder called "all users" for use when you want to store data that's to be shared among all users.

A program will look for data in the user's personal folder (PsychatoR) first, and if it doesn't find it there it will then check the "all users" folder. Some older programs always write to the "all users" folder only, so you don't want to delete it.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

C: is for windows system only (XP).

Well, a great many computers have only a single hard drive and only a single partition on that drive. In any case you can be reasonably sure that there will be at least one partition on a computer and pretty sure it will be labeled C: So if you are writing a quick and dirty installer, it makes sense to make it install to the one partition that you know will be there. It also makes technical support easier, if the support guy knows where critical files are parked. I agree, that apps should give you the option to put things on the partition that you choose, but many do not. At least Sonar gives you some flexibility about where to put the really big stuff.
