cakewalk - drumroll effect found in most techno music

how to create the ' escalating drumroll effect ' found in most techno music or where in sonar 8 can i find this effect.   thanks much if someone can help me on this.

    snares at 16th, or 32nd  or 64ths, then make it slowly get louder with midi volume and/or envelope...

    using step sequencer 2.0 it's easy to draw in volume curves...

    If you have a snare sound ready to go (ie, MIDI/Synth), go into the PRV (Piano Roll View), use the DRAW tool, select 16ths or 32nds as the note value (choose for your own taste), draw.
     
    Then draw the velocity in the controller pane (which I always use) or just draw the velocity curve in the note pane if you don't use a controller pane in the PRV.
     
    Takes about 10 seconds or less
     
    To do it with audio takes a lot more work though you could use the Matrix if you play fast enough ;)
     
    And, as was suggested already, the Step Sequencer works for this as well.  I just find the PRV approach the quickest for this particular effect.

    Opening a low pass filter through the roll can add to the vibe as can opening the amp envelope release. I do this on the synth I'm using for the roll but you could use automation with transient designer and track eq if your working with audio files.
