can I transpose 1 note only in a midi drum track?

I am a new Artist user -- just migrated up from some 20 year old cakewalk version.  Really just trying to learn how to use the midi right now, will worry about the DAW stuff later.

I have a drum track that I like and I want the bass drum to play the sound on the adjacent note but leave the rest of the track the same.  On my old version I used to accomplish this by running the CAL "split notes to tracks" and then I would just transpose the applicable track.   But I am thinking there might be a faster easier way to do this now?  Can anybody tell me?

Also I want to know if I have some other soft synths or virtual instruments bundled in with Artist?  And if so how do I change them?  I have figured out how to change the patches in whatever the default sound source is, but should there be more sound sources that I can choose from?  Maybe I am supposed to download them individually from the command center?

Thanks!

Take a look at drum maps - they do just what you're looking for.

Hi. You can change a single MIDI note by opening the Piano Roll View (PRV shortcut Alt+3), and just change the note you wish by clicking on the note in question, and move it. Using Shift click assures that the note stays in place note wise. If you use SIT (simple Instrument tracks), I think you should be able to right click and choose replace synth. Hope it helps.
All the best.

If you click on the drum name in PRV it selects all the "notes" for that drum.  You can then drag them all up or down as needed.

When I do drums via midi, I typically split them into their separate tracks.   (just a suggestion).  That way, you can assign them to different modules, make timing offsets (drag/push the snare, etc) without changing everything else.

That being said, as others has suggested, they will work too.

Good luck.

A rack of noisemakers is not a definitive substitute for creativity. (though it does seem to help)

A list of your softsynths are found in the File menu under "Utilities -> Cakewalk Plug-in Manager".

If you think some are missing just click the "Scan VST Plug-ins" button to refresh the list.

Or go to the File menu under "Insert -> Soft synth" to see a list of active instruments. "Vstplugins" is your best bet.
