can't open plugins?

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I've seen this twice in the last week. I open a project - but can't open any of the plugins. (double) click on them and nothing happens. If I close SONAR, open it again and open the same project - it's fine.

Has anyone else seen this?

SONAR X1a x64, Win 7 64 bit

I've not seen this behavior.  which plugins are they?  sonar plugins or 3rd party? 32bit or 64bit plugins?  and are you using sonar 64bit or 32bit?

It's all plugins. In my case it's 32 bit URS and kjaerhus ones (with jbridge), that I can think of - but it was basically any plugin.

operating system?  do I assume 64bit sonar since you said you're using j-bridge?

you say "all plugins" but then you say "in your case..." I'm not sure what you mean by that.  ALL plugins on someone else's system and then "in your case the 32bit URS and kjaerhus ones"?

John, please try to be more specific.  give us as much informatoin as you possibly can - remember we can't see anything you see.

That's because I'm not at my music PC right now. I does say SONAR X1 64bit, Windows 7 64 bit in the original post.

I can list the plugins (when I go check my music PC) - but to be honest, I don't think this is a function of the specific plugins. There are a few different plugins in the project, including URS Console strip pro and a few kjaerhus delays, and I was beta testing the Eareckon Eareverb - and yes they are all using jbridge - but the symptm is that I couldn't open any plugin window. I feel pretty confident that no matter which plugin I add to this project will do exactly the same thing.

The fact that I can exit SONAR, re-open the exact same project - and it works fine - indicates that it's just a little SONAR fluke. Also, this happened on two different projects, so it's not related tto the project file.

I can get a definitive list of the plugins involved, later.

OK - here's alist of plugins in the project

URS Console Strip Pro (jbridge) on most channels
Toneboosters Isone PRO (64 bit) on master buss
Kjaerhus Classic Delay (jbridge) on a few channels
POD Farm2 seperates (modulation) (jbridge) on one channel
Channel Tools (SONAR 64 bit plugin) on one channel

and that's it. Like I said, I don't think it matters which plugins are in the project. None of them open  up when the problem occurs.

Do the plugins still seem active (i.e. are they making sound)?

    my apologies, yes you did.

and I was beta testing the Eareckon Eareverb

this would concern me.  your problem seems unique, i.e. there aren't a lot of other members on the forum complaining about this problem, so I would look for the thing that makes your projects different from others'.  beta testing a plugin would definitely qualify.

Yes - the plugins were working fine, I just couldn't open the interface to them. Like I said it only happened twice, but I thought it was worth noting.

    Beagle,
I appreciate that you're trying to help, but I wouldn't have posted if I thought it was something obvious like a dodgy plugin. This was a minor point release to a released product. It works fine. There were two projects that this happened with. One is a "test project" that I use for a few things that I beta test.

The other project that this happened on is a "normal" project - ie a song I'm working on. It has no beta plugins in it, and never had any beta plugins in it.

It happened on two different projects, with a variety of plugins - some 32 bit and some 64 bit. The problem occurred with *all* the plugins in the project. The only common denominator is SONAR.

Maybe it was just something stupid - but the fact is, after closing SONAR and reopening the project, the problem went away. I opened both of these projects lots of other times and they were fine - so who knows? ;-)

I'm also testing the same plug-in and I'm not seeing any problem opening any plug-in GUI.  (64 bit also)  I don't us JBridge though.

Maybe it's jbridge freaking out every once in a while. I just wanted to get a feel for if anyone else was seeing this.

Looks like they aren't though ;-)
