can't view inspector
This has been a problem for me since X1 came out: As you can see, I don't get a full view of the inspector (and that's with the compact eq). I'm guessing this is because my monitor has unusual screen dimensions (1336 by 768), but even at the highest resolution (1440 by 900), I can't see everything. As far as I know, there's no way to scroll up.
Sonar 8.5 and X1, Windows 8, Intel i7, 8 GB RAM

Unfortunately you cannot scroll within the Inspector. You need to collapse modules you're not working with to see the other elements. One workaround is after you've adjusted your EQ, switch over to compact view for the EQ. That frees up a lot of space.

The ergonomics in Sonar X1 having a common display really bothers me!

Assuming you are not running expanded, in which case you could scroll. You need to use the compacted EQ as other modules don't collapse either in vanilla X1. You can change the EQ in Display-->Module Options-->Pro Channel found at the bottom of the inspector

Please keep in mind that 1336 x 768 is below the minimum specs for SONAR X1. As FBB mentioned above, the ProChannel is fully modular does mouse wheel scroll in Expanded. If you can't upgrade ot get a higher res monitor, you can hit 'C' to make the Control Bar hide/ show which will let you see more in the PC. SP

A questionnaire was sent out before X1 came out, entitled "what do you want in the next version" or words to that effect. Many of us found it odd that nearly all the questions related to the screens we were using. Unfortunately, people were proud to brag about their dual-monitor high-resolution screens. As a result, those of us needing smaller footprint laptops are now suffering. There is a lot of potential to make X1 more screen-efficient. I do hope Cakewalk is considering improvements.

Yes, I should have added that it scrolls in Expanded...I just assumed if he was running Expanded, he wouldn't have just specified X1. I do think that between Expanded and X1d, the Pro Channel has really started to come into its own. I find myself using fewer VSTs, other than for "special effects."

I think after a rocky start, the whole 'X' series is really starting to. It really is a solid base to build on with the great workflow enhancements, screensets, Smart Tool, Screenset, Multidock, Screensets, PC,....have I mentioned Screensets?
