can't change audio options
Hi, I am trying to record vocals into Sonar LE with a Blue Yeti usb mic. I went through all the instructions on how to set up the mic to record with Sonar. Sonar recognizes the mic but when I try to record it drops out almost instantly. I have gone through all the instructions on the Sonar help, read through the posts on this forum including the one at the top about the Samson mic. When I try to configure the audio options and click "ok" it won't do anything. The window just keeps popping until I close it out and nothing changes. Frustrating.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Sony laptop Windows 7 2.4 ghz 4gig ram 150 gig free space Sonar 6.2 Blue Yeti usb mic I also have an old macbook that has a slower processor and only 1 gig of ram and the yeti works fine on garageband. I like Sonar and have not had any other issues with it other than this. I open an audio track, sonar recognizes the usb mic as an option. I select the yeti as the input for the track, arm the record button, then the audio engine light comes on and only stays on for a few seconds and then dies. Then I go into the audio options menu and try to reset the audio configurations, I hit apply and then okay and the window won't close. ?? Is this a software glitch or is there something I'm missing? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1880413 Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit system? AFAIK SONAR 6 doesn't officially support W7, so I'm not sure if that's the key. Have you tried different driver modes (though, I believe the Yetis own drivers should be the best). If you start recording in spite of the audio engine light, what happens?

I have 64 bit. So far, I have been recording midi tracks via usb connection with a Yamaha Motif on Sonar 6 and it works fine. When I start to record audio, I am only able to record a tiny blip and then it dies. I did try one time using my laptop's own internal mic and Sonar did the same thing. Its not my computer, its not the mic, its the software that is the problem. I found a 30 day trial for 8.5 that I think I'm going to try and see if it works.

The window just keeps popping until I close it out and nothing changes. Exact same behavior here...Win7 x64, Sonar 6.2.1, AMD X6 CPU, RealTek on-board sound processor, and Yamaha MW10 USB mixer (my #1 suspect). Note that if you open Audio options up and DO NOT SHOW the "Advanced" tab, it will close OK, but once "Advanced" has been seen, the window will not close. I've just started working on this situation, and Googled and found this thread. If I figure out wjat's happening, I will post back here.

Two things...One is I don't belong here...I am Using Sonar 6.2.1 PE, not LE. However, I think LE and PE share the same problem. Cakewalk knows about this problem. Go here to get your fix. Halfway down the page there's a link to Driver Mode Changer. I downloaded it, and ran it, setting my audio driver to WDM/KS and now I can go into audio options and foul things up to my heart's content and I am able to close the window without a problem. Good luck.
