Amplitube is an audio FX.... so you need to load it into the FX bin of an audio track.... Does it show up in the list of available audio FX? If not, it needs to be "connected" by using the plug in manager and add it to the scan. Please give a few more details on what you are doing and how you're doing it. That would be very helpful. If you have done 2 installs and it still isn't working it's likely installed correctly, you just need to provide the correct path info to MC5 so it can find Amplitube.

have you registered it? if not, you need to open it and register it. when you insert it directly it will bring up a window with registration instructions. right now it's bringing it up in the default template, but you're getting the message because you haven't registered it. insert it as an FX directly (instead of default template) and it will give you instructions on registration.

Each audio track has what's called an effects bin (FX Bin). You right-click in the bin which will bring up the list of available audio effects. Click the one you want to use. Oh, MIDI tracks also have FX bins, but you won't find Ampltube in them.

try registering it.... like beagle said..... first...close MC... restart it by right clicking on the Icon and choose run as administrator..... see if that makes a difference. open a new project, and try to insert Amplitube. See if it kicks up a registration screen. let us know.

when I try to start as an administrator, it freezes up. when I start MC5 regular, the first screen that pops up is a scanning screen, then it says the following program (amplitube )caused an error durring load. it then ask if i want to disable the plug in or enable it. if if click disable, MC5 will start up.

start up MC. let it give you the error message and say "disable" then go to the FX bin of an audio track. right click in the FX bin, then choose AMPLITUBE from the menu list. it should then bring up a window that tells you how to register.

The scanner that starts up is looking at a specific folder/location (can actually be several places ) for the DLL file for that specific plug in/FX. If it doesn't find it, you will get the "plug in missing" "disable?" warnings. You need to play detective and see if you can find the folder for Amplitube.... then look in the folder and see if you can find the DLL file...... if it's not there...search the computer for it. When you find it.... simply copy it and paste it into the folder where it's supposed to be. restart MC and see if you can now load it. If not, try another reinstall of Amplitube with a clean boot. Make sure it's in the scan list....even to the point of deleteing it and adding it back again.... I always do this... in the browse for file location window..... I browse DOWN the tree all the way to the DLL file for the FX/plug in. Click OK and then click re-scan...then try to open it in the program track FX bin. The whole key here is to find the actual DLL file and be sure it's in the folder MC is scanning.... if it's not it will not work. let us know how you are progressing..... and be patient..... you'll get it working eventually...

is this the boxed version? you might not have installed it. put the disk back in and look at the custom installation and install amplitube only.

When I installed MC5 on my computer from the disk... it ran through the entire installation and installed everything...... however.... and I don't remember the details..... but if there is a custom install option, it will only install what you select..... so what Beagle says is entirely possible.

I have the download version MC5 and have had the same problem with Amplitube X-gear before i unlocked it. If Amblitube is installed during installation of MC5 it also installs a standalone version of Amplitube X-gear, you can find it in the windows startmenu or in Program Files/IK Multimedia/AmpliTube x-gear.The standalone version you can use without using MC5 and if you can start this program there is a little padlock button on the bottom left, if you click on this you can register Amplitube with IK Multimedia and they send you the registrationcode you can use to unlock Amplitube. After I unlocked the standalone version i could also use the plug-in version in MC5. Hope this helps, greetings Morenoise

Great advice morenoise. I was thinking that it had a stand alone version..... many plugs do.... but I don't use this so I wasn't sure...
