cant slave VS890 to cakewalk?

I cant get my 890 to slave to cakewalk. It works fine as the master. I have tried everything I can find in the roland manuals. I use VERY OLD cakewalk version 4.01! NOT SONAR or PRO or anything but the old cakewalk 4. I dont have a manual for it. Does anyone have any experience w/ 890 and cakewalk v4.01? Thanks.

The VS890 works as slave to MTC, with a frame rate of 30.
I don't have a clue how to set that in Cakewalk 4, but in Sonar 5 it's a breeze.
You should be able to look up whether you can do it in the help...

On the VS890, click System until you get to "Sync/Tempo" and click Yes.
Then scroll the dial until it says slave (if it's not on "Sync Src", click the left parameter button until it does).
Then click Play(Display), and you're done.

Post back here if you have any more questions...
