change guitar to harmonica?

Hello all,
Is it possible to change an audio track that was recorded on guitar to harmonica? I am using Home Studio 6XL.
Thanks.

I'm not sure I'm understanding exactly what you want to do, you'll need to be more specific.

are you asking if you can edit out guitar and put harmonica into an already mixed project where you don't have individual tracks?  if so, no.

are you asking if you can delete a guitar track and put a harmonica track in?  sure.

    give us some more details.

No. If it was a MIDI track, that would be very easy to do.

I have a dry guitar track that I wanted to see if I could change the instrument on it.
It sounds like because it is an audio track it can't be done.
    Thanks guys!

If the part isn't too complicated it probably wouldn't be too hard to write it out in Midi using the PRV. Then you could make it any instrument that your soft synths contained. I'd like to hear the track.

Thanks everyone for your input. The song is a cover of "Hide Your Love Away" that a friend recorded and I added the outro riff on guitar. After I did it I wondered if I could replace the guitar with harmonica. Midi sounds like the way to go.

There are plenty of versions of that song online in Midi format. You could probably find one that suited you and copy the Midi data for that part into your own project.
