changing project name?

What is the best way to rename a project. I tried "save as" but it ended up in the same folder pointing to the same audio. It works but not the way I'd like it to. The audio still has the old name.  I was going to try renaming the folder & .cwp file but I'm a little nervous doing it that way & that wouldn't change the audio name. Any ideas

Try doing a Save As, but create a new folder first, then save into this folder. I do it all the time.

You can rename the .cwp file or the project's folder, or both, without upsetting anything. But the names of all the audio files need to stay as they are.

I noticed on some of my projects I also have a file with the extension .cwp.assets . What is that one for? I opened it with notepad & it has folder info so it looks like it's used for reference.  So it looks like there is no way to change the name of the wave files in a project without doing some dangerous hacking. It's really not a problem but it would be nice to have the wave file names match up with the project names if you ever want to change the project name. I would think that would be an easy feature to add in the future but there's probably not a lot of demand for it either.

The assets file has to do with Gobbler I believe.

I believe the assets file related to Gobbler info, and possibly other "assets" now. Not sure what you mean about the wave files. You can rename them inside of Sonar but that bears little resemblance to their external name, but never has AFAIK.

The best way to manage wave files is from within the project or using the CWAF tool that comes with Sonar. Managing them outside of Sonar is possible but asking for trouble unless you are 100% confident in what you are doing.

The asset files were for Gobbler and the hooks for Gobbler integration are still in SONAR. It is possible to suppress asset file creation by disabling "Save Asset Manifests with Projects" in Preferences > File > Advanced. To see the Advanced settings select the Advanced radio button at the bottom of the Preferences dialog. Existing asset files may be deleted.
