cloning a track, MUTE affects both?

How can I stop Sonar from linking back to an original from a cloned track? "Link to Original Clips" is not selected, however when I try to mute either the original track or the cloned track, the MUTE affects both...

Don't clone instrument tracks, create a new instrument track and copy the MIDI data or split the instrument track and clone the MIDI track.

Hi. Maybe you have them grouped?
    Best of luck.

My money is on this being a simple instrument track. Cloning them locks the tracks together as one.

It could definitively be so. My suggestion was just from the top of my head (And those suggestions are something to take with a (HUGE) grain of salt)
    Anyway, best of luck.

Cloning instrument tracks has been the subject of some lengthy threads such as http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2856182 although grouping is a possibility.
