compatibility with LE

Hey guys,

Just wondering if you can use MC3 to open an LE file, before I go and buy MC3???

I use my desktop for recording, which is not good enough to run MC3 (dont have DVDROM drive). MY laptop, which is more powerful for mixing, has vista and won't run my LE....I would like to import LE files into MC3 if you think this would work.

Let me know what you think.

thanks!

I'm sure you mean MC4, since 3 is neither Vista-compatible nor available. Unless it's in a store bargain bin.
If your (Sonar ?) LE projects are saved as Cakewalk bundle (.cwb) files, they should open right up in MC4.
You can download MC4 so you don't need a DVD drive, if you want to continue using the desktop pc. And it's a few dollars cheaper than at the store.
If you're going to use the laptop, whether from a DVD or download, save your current projects onto a CD as Cakewalk bundle (.cwb) files.
Bundle file have all the MIDI and audio data on them, while project files (.cwp) only have the directions to find the information on the hard drive, and if you put a .cwp file on the new computer, it won't be able to find the audio and MIDI data because it's on the other hard drive.

Cheers Greg, I was always meaning to ask what's the difference between a bundle and a .cwp file.
