connection confusion
Is it safe to connect a guitar on input 1L and use the Hi-Z button and
on input 2R a microphone that has a XLR plug and requires phantom power to be supplied ?
(manual getting started p 32 and p33 connecting instruments)
thanks

Hi sonaires and welcome to the forum. Please let us know what hardware you want to connect the microphone and guitar into and what microphone you are using and we can advise you better.

I am using the sonar V studio 100 and the connection input 1L is put to Hi-Z for my Hopf vintage guitar.(jack)
Input 2R will be used for a microphone (XLR) sontronics stc-2 (CARDIOID CONDENSER MICROPHONE Who required phantom power 48V)
Is this configuration save?
Using a dynamic microphone and my guitar seems to be no problem without phantom power
(manual getting started p32 and p33 is not mentioning my configuration
thanks for help

It's a safe and common configuration: with everything muted, plug in the condenser, and then turn on the phantom power. Unmute everything, and you're good to go. You won't have to risk the possibility of blowing your speakers/monitors/headphones from the high energy pop on connection following this.
When disconnecting, turn off phantom power and disconnect the condenser. Make sure you never accidentally activate phantom power on a source that doesn't need it, such as your dynamic mic.
