    Hi Matthew

You've definetly nailed this one, nicely laid back and very faithful.

If anything, I'd be tempted to bring up the bass a bit in the mix and let it drive the verses with the drums as per the original.

You should post this on the Songs Forum as well, nice work indeed

    Thanks Steve.

Not a bad idea and I really do like the bass line in the original song. I think it does or can drive the song as you say.. In this one? Eh, not so much. It's not the melody of the bass itself, but..

When I crank the volume more, the bass line tends to sound a bit too clinky for me. So I tried to minimize the damage. :) Some people may not mind it though. I'm a picky sucker! Didn't want the midi-ish bass to be much of a detraction or distraction...

fanzz, did you try bouncing the midi bass to audio, and then run it through a bass amp sim? I have a freebie if you need it, small file, easy to send via e-mail)

Very well done! I liked this. I didn't hear the original, but this sure sounds good! I agree with Steve--you should post it on the songs forum too!

    Thanks Mamabear! :)

Hey Gambler-I did bounce the midi bass to audio and all the midi tracks as I found that I ran into problems trying to record vocals, if I didn't do so. Some kind of stuterring thing happened before when I tried to record vocals and left the midi tracks as such... I always convert these days.

Nice idea on the bass amp sim. I don't have one in MC2-just a regular amp sim which is not that great, but maybe I could play with it some to try and give it a better sound. Thanks. You have a bass amp sim that works with MC2?

Bass amp sim, actually two of them, they are free plugins. You have to run a stereo file through them for some reason, so don't bounce the midi down to a mono track, leave it as stereo. I'll e-mail them tto you
