crackling sound

I've noticed a distinct and loud crackeling sound on occasion when I use a soft synth.  My levels are fine (double checked).  If I create a new file, the problem gets a bit better, however the sound is still there.  Any ideas?

Are you using the software that came with the VS-100, or something else?
More than likely you just need to increase your buffer settings in the software, but that is pure speculation without knowing more details.

Which software (DAW) do you use?
Which soft synth are you trying to insert?

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!
