Looking at the clip in your first post, it appears to be about 1.36 seconds long. That works out to about 2 beats of 4/4 at 88 BPM.
So if you were to drag the clip to start on a measure line, Use Set Measure.Beat At Now to set that point, and then go to the end of the clip (F8 for me, but re-mapped my X1 hotkeys to be like 8.5) and set that point to beat 3 in the same measure, you should end up with a clip that's exactly a measure long with a tempo around 88. You can then Groove Clip it, and it shouldn't change.
If you don't start this exercise with the clip at 1:01:000, you'll want to go back to the beginning of the project, and change the initial tempo to match the tempos established by the clip.
