current Native Instruments software and Windows

In the requirements area for most of the recent Native Instrument software packages, they list Windows 7. But if I'm running an older version of Windows (like XP or Vista) will it install and run?

You might get better & more updated info in one of the NI forums, but I believe NI just isn't publicly supporting anything but Win 7 (although the software works on older platforms). Amongst other things, I'm thinking of getting Komplete 8.....so, eventually I'll check that out too. Please do post here if you find some info on this.

Consensus on the NI forums is it will work on XP, there has been very little said about Vista. Some NI employees have, very guardedly, alluded to the latest products working on XP. But if it does not work you are own your own.

There are demo / player versions so you can try it out. I have had the Kontakt 5 player running on Vista 64 and I have not seen any issues.

Glyn how is the Kontakt 5 player vs. Kontakt 4 (which I have the full)?

I just tried it to see if it worked. There are no earth shattering differences. An eventual upgrade to 5 is probably inevatable as there will be third party stuff that will use the new features and wont work on 4
