it's ok to look-----if you know the answer.

so far 26 people have looked even though I asked that you not-and you wonder why our schools are in the shape they are in. It all boils down to the parents and the integrity that they learn at home. FWIW, I also am monitoring who looked and will post the results later on.

Looking when told not to has less to do with schools and parents, and more to do with human nature, I think. I don't think your parents can teach you to not look just because you are told.

I think that this is actually a good behavior if directed properly. It is what has allowed people to make the advances they have in many fields. It is what keeps us from just doing things the same way because, "That's the way it has always been done." Like anything we humans do, it can be abused and twisted to purposes that aren't good, but it isn't necessarily an evil trait in and of itself. The painting Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough was done because art schools at the time said you could not use blue as the major color for a painting. He did it because they said he couldn't.

Hey, it is exactly what the old saying about curiosity, the cat, and satisfaction is all about. Sometimes the knowledge is worth the risk.

Anyway, my 2 cents.

so Tim, was the knowledge worth the risk? And surely you realize that I was joking when I wrote that post right?
