OK... so tell us more about the set up.

It looks to me from looking at the Alesis page, that the IO2 uses son=me other driver beside ASIO, since it looks like there is an ASIO4ALL download option.

ASIO4ALL (a4a) is a wrapper that fools a less desirable driver into thinking it's an ASIO driver. This works from some interfaces but not all.

Yes, the synch/latency issue is very likely related to the interface and the driver being used.

Have you attempted to use the A4A driver wrapper to see if it will work?  If not, I'd say give it a try. You have nothing to lose.

If you have recently bought the Alesis and can return it for a credit, I would suggest contacting the store/seller, and see about a credit towards an interface that runs NATIVE ASIO drivers, not the A4A wrapper driver.

The correct interface & driver combination will allow you to run MC6 with all tracks perfectly synced and no noticeable latency on the synths....all in real time.

Before you do anything else....download the Asio4All wrapper and try it.

What is the reported latency of your Alesis? I know that sometimes using MC4, it chooses the internal sound cards playback and recording master, even though I'm using an external interface.  Make sure you choose the Alesis for playback and recording master and rerun the wave profiler, assuming MC6 has this selection.

    MC4 - M-Audio FW410 / Behringer UCA202 - Fender Strat / Jazzmaster / DuoSonic / Washburn / Peavy Foundation M-Audio Radium 49 Roland Juno 106 / JazzChorus / Seymore Duncan Convertible - HP A1230N ( AMD Athalon 3800+ 2G Ram + 200G HD )

    good point TAP.

it would be a real kick in the pants if MC was defaulting to the internal sound card and you were thinking it was using the Alesis.....  double check that.
