different inputs for different audio tracks?

hello,

I'm trying to determine whether this is possible.

Following on from my previous thread I have recorded a number of guitar tracks using my Line 6 POD GX successfully + POD farm VST. Thanks for the help.

On the same project I would like to record other instruments (more guitar, bass, vocals) using a Steingberg CI2 device i.e. mic up an amp.

When I try to select the CI2 as the input the settings simply won't hold when using the ASIO driver, line 6 GX as my output (I kind of use it as my dedicated sound card).

Is this even possible in MC6 in the first place?

When using the ASIO driver mode, you may only use 1 device at a time.
Use WDM or MME driver mode to use more than 1 audio device at a time, or change the device to the Steinberg for input and output.

Ah so it's a driver limitation.

Will give that a shot. Thank you 57Gregy

ASIO, as Greg points out is limited to ONE thing at a time. If you shut off the POD, you could restart Cake and use the Steinburg.

If it's USB, it should be in the available list of audio devices.

Interesting to note: On my lappy, I was able to start MC first and then load several other music programs which selected a different driver..... they all ran happily and sent the music output to the interface w/o any problems. My newer DAW is similar..... hard to believe that my newer DAW is now almost exactly 4 years old..... my how time flies.
