There are two standards for the optical connection. One is the domestic stereo signal and the other is the ADAT optical that carries 8 channels of audio. It depends if the Korg is the proper ADAT optical connection. I have just done the research and it is so you can connect it direct to your VS700R.  You will only get six channels going down that connection ie channels 1 to 6 will only be used the stereo signal and the 4 individual outs.

When you record into Sonar you might want to make the 'Record Timing Master' setting according to the ADAT IN connection.

This is not a bad way to go either. As the digital signal can sound very good as you are not using and D to A in the Triton. Compare the two as you might prefer the analog output. On a Kurzweil the digital output is after the analog part of the machine which is weird but that is not normally the case. On most synths it is before the D to A output.

What Frank points out below is so true as well about the sampling rate. Not sure about the Triton but in some units it might be fixed at 48 Khz. No big deal but you might have to do projects at that rate if it is fixed.

I got the impression from the specs that the Triton had an ADAT output. But you may have to fit this as well, (optional) it might not be standard. If Frank  is correct and the optical out is the non ADAT variety then you can still do it. There is a little box that converts this stereo optical out to SPDIF and you can feed that into the SPDIF inputs on your VS700R.

I know for sure the optical input on the VS700R is ADAT only.
