disc space

Hello, I'm still using Guitar Pro 2. I know, it's old. I'm under 50% disc space now. To free up space I bought a 2 tera bit outdrive thinking that saving new songs on it would free up disc space on the lap top. Wrong! It saves on both the lap top and outdrive. Is there a way to run the total thing off the outdrive?
Thanks,

depends what the other drive is ? usb 2.. it's a bit slow...
store anything else like photos or past projects on it.use treesize free to find area's of bloat on the pc..

I use a caddy that I have instead of a dvd drive.. so it adds another HD internally SATA wise = good transfer rate.

but that was specific for my laptop.. I use a LOT of samples.. and needed the space.

Fog, Thank you for your reply. My out-drive is a usb 2. What I'd like to do is be able to store my project songs on the out-drive instead of the laptop. But it stores on both. I tried deleting the laptop's song hoping I'd be able to bring it up on the out-drive, but no luck. How is your caddy hooked up to your computer?
