downloaded software VSTs plugins but cant find them

Hello Guys and Gals 

One quick question...I have bought some plugins directly from softtube website and installed them..But they do not appear in sonar plugin browser, even though I did a search for them using this function of the browser. what steps should I be taking and where should I be looking

    First you have to tell Sonar what folder the dll file for the VST is found. 
    Run a VST scan in Sonar.

    Hey Dave

    when I installed the VSTs...The location was the Steinberg  folder. Do I go into the plugin manager section of Sonar and run the scan form there ?( I have done that) Or you are suggesting another of method to scan for the plugins . I can see that the VSTs are installed correctly,because the folder is visible in my start up menu section.

    Go to Preferences-File-VST Settings and make sure the Steinberg folder is in the list of VST scan folders. Then click on Scan VST folders.

    some installers asssume the steinberg path , if you do a custom install or move them to the cakewalk \ vst one you should be fine..

    C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTplugins
      or the (x86) prog files.. and perhaps copy them to 

    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins
      or a sub folder.


    Or just to an install, BUT do custom OR don't be so quick to click on the installer prompts , IF that gives you the options.

     Hey guys 

    In answering both replies. I have checked  within the preference menu under VSTs settings. I can see the  C/program files/Cakewalk/ VSTplugins . But not the C/program files/Steinberg/VSTPlugin folder. Do I uninstall and re-install and what path should I select?

    No, just add the Steinberg path to the list of VST scan folders in Sonar.

    Then re-scan.
