dread soldier new/old

I don't know if I should even put this out there.
dread soldier
yikes it needs work, but like I said, I'm gonna blast them out and then when I have
a cd's worth, I'll go back and hone them in.

no, I don't have a bass. I really need a bass I try doing it on my guitar but, well you hear the results.

If I could get my key rig 49 to work I could that.

Do you have any soft synths? DImPro has some great Real Basses that I always use.

    Paul

This is a good reggae song and they ain't easy to write, I know because my trashcan is full of 'em had I got this one down I'd be working on it right now...

You are definitely going about things the right way putting your creativity first and getting all them songs firmed up later as you can fiddle with 'em 'til your heart's content then but if you don't get that inspiration down at the time them tunes are gone forever.

I'd be plenty willing to work on this one with you if you'd like just drop me a PM anytime if you are in anyway interested. But don't let me interfere with your writing flow you're on a roll at the moment, go with it.

This is the first one I've heard of yours. Cool song. I really like the panning. |the guitar & vocals really work well together. Keep us posted. i'd like to hear where you go with this.

There is a hiss in there. It sounds like the noise gate gets it but when the vocals start up the hiss comes back.

I especially like the way the guitars in this! It's a nice tune and you've done a good job on it!

Maybe you could fix the link in your first post. Took me a minute to figure out how to get to your page. And take Jonbouy up on his offer--he's a pro!

    Paul,

This baby has lots of promise. Vox are a bit mushed up with rhythm guitar but a little nudge on panning can fix that. Guitar is sweet. song in very good. Invest (time, frustration, more time, more frustration...lol..you get the idea..) Get some humping bass and drums and ****POW!!!****

    Hi Paul,

Another good one from you. Sounds like the rhythm guitar is heavily processed - compression and a flanger/phaser? Excellent vox and bgvs.

You have a style of your own on what I've heard so far, and you have obvious songwriting talent.

Oh yeah, Go Sox next year!

    Cheers,
    Doug

Thank you to all who wrote with such encouragement.

I see the potential in my songs and know that they are far from being complete
but with such encouragement here, I'm very motivated to go on.

My 15 year old son just gave me a wake up call.

Dad, your voice sounds like a evp, you sound like a ghost
and your recording needs to be more professional...lol

Hey, it's all a process, righ?

Oh, btw, this song was originally called dead soldier and after I would sing it people would say
That's so sad and I would say why it's about an empty beer bottle..aka, dead soldier.
Well, with a war going on I didn't think it would be right to be singing about dead soldiers.
Even though the song was not about dying soldiers.
