driver problem

driver problem

I'm running tascam 1884 with windows vista 64BIT Sonar X1Exspanded. I Keep losing my sound In sonar, And I
Have to keep reinstalling the driver. How can i solve this problem?

    Do you have TI Chipset Firewire (card or mobo)? 

    Not sure about Vista 64bit but in Win7 64bit we have to used the Legacy Firewire driver on the device/card/mobo.

    also, make sure you have disabled firewire power saving feature.  it will turn power off of your firewire port when windows thinks the unit is not needed at that time.

    I also think that bapu has some great advice on this as well.
